Do I understand that you are referring to the strip of rubber that holds the glass into the frame? I had a glass guy tell me that he just uses the urethane like on windshields.
I have done the installation using the strips, it works to pound them together. It is a little nerve test for sure.
yeah i dont know what urethane to use...
and yeah rubber piece just put on wing and pound it in.. lol
this is why i havent had a wing window since the 90s lol
When I did the ones for my '70, it seemed like the stuff was a special thickness, so I don't know where to get it unless some place sells it specifically for the glass.
As far as urethane, if you can find a glass shop that isn't a big chain, maybe they would get it done for you, for a decent price.
I am lucky, I have a guy who is frickin awesome, he even does service calls for barely any extra money.
