Winter Wheelin in Ontario

Wow.. we need to get on this site more... it has been awhile.

This was the first winter that the K5 stayed out to play in the snow. Of course the one day that we went out for a winter run.. must have been the coldest day of the year. So cold that the locking hubs froze due to some water that creeped in. Nothing a little scraping and frost bite on the hands couldn't fix

Looks like fun. Do you ever use chains for the snow? I'm debating on getting some for use in the mountains, but there are many choices.

there illegal here, as well as studed tires, i guess they where the road too much

nice pics dude, only winter wheelin i did this year, was bounceing around in frozen mud holes, bad for truck and my neck lol

I actually have a set of military tire chains (for offroading only, right DS) to fit 35" tires but I never tried them. I don't think they will fit my 37"s now. BTW, for you locals, this is near Bowmanville, Ontario.

bent the front part of my fenders up a few inchs and ripped a brake line out

Thanx. I started into the whole 4x4 (and 67-72 Chevy) world with a '68 short box that the frame was TOAST on. The front clip is all that I have left. The search for a frame turned me onto my Blazer so it all worked out for the better in the end. Might never have been a K5 guy otherwise!
