From a couple years back. Rocks and snow actually make for a pretty boring vid. But here ya go

I had 44s on Horton at the time, been looking at pics I wanna go back to 44s but I need chro mos and drive flanges first

you have a diesel in it at the time or just an exhaust leak...:D
Even had the windshield in it still!

what gear ratio are in your axles? That seems fairly low crawl ratio.

Doubler baby!!!! 4.56s with a turbo 350

Nope just an exhaust leak Zim. Yah I had the heater cranked was very comfy. Those days are long gone

hrmmm that is not bad!

I was wondering what it would feel/look like. Looking at gear calcs the plain 4to1 doesnt look that low.

Guess my 4.10s and fake 42s wouldnt be too far off.

I enjoyed watching that. Thanks for posting it up.

Is that a custom rear window? Did you narrow the front or do those tires make it look small?

Yeah I remember riding in Horton, just about like on the m/c...:D

now if you could crop that crappy music out, so we could hear whats going on it would be so much better:pimp:

No Chris the doubler you will love man. One of the best things I have ever done, the torque converter helps when you are moving that slow. Since I put the doubler in I have never had trouble spinning the tires or getting going at all. You can just give it enough gas to get em moving or a bit more to get em spinning

I wheeled for so long with your basic setup in my 73 that it got to the point where it was really annoying not being able to crawl. But after the doubler that all goes away

Those dang tires made everything look small :D but yes the front is narrowed. I haven't changed the front end at all since I cut the cab off.

The rear window is just a stock slider rear

44's are way over rated. With 42's you only loose 1" of ground clearance. The 44's make it so you have to either be really easy on the throttle or upgrade everything in the front axle. Then, when you break, you are stuck either running stock shafts again or waiting for high dollar replacements. 44's are not for me, maybe if I was building a mud truck or something like that but, not for actual wheeling. The 42's are much better in just about every way.

I actuallly tend to agree with ya Rob, but I did find some situations where the 44s performed much better than the 42s and with our type of rockcrawling having the extra inch of clearance helped out a ton, way more than I thought.

I only need to link the front, get axle gears, link the rear, redo the front, get chro mos, get drive flanges, and a couple more things before I go back to 44s

So its going to be a while :D

So, that is all you need to do huh?:eek1: I have never been wheeling where y'all are at and some day I hope to get to. Seriously, it is on my bucket list along with Fordyce, The Rubicon, Hammers, Cedar City, Alaska, and some dune running there in Idaho. One of these days when I am rich and famous I am going to visit all of them. Seriously though, if I had to go back and do it again I would have just invested in coil springs or better leaf springs instead of the coil overs. The coil overs are bad azz, don't get me wrong but, I would like to have more streetability than what I have.
