I had a chance to do some winter wheeling w/out having to go on the salt. This is at my friends acreage where I stored the OBS for the winter.

I have a little wmv file, too, but not sure how to post it.

Man that is one nice Blazer. I could only wish mine looked that good. Where did you pick up those wheels? I really want a set like those for my 80.

Thanks!
There's a story behind those. When Dad bought his '73 had a full set of Jackman white spokes with summer road tires on them. (He had deep steelies painted to match the truck w/ desert dogs for winter-see pic).

Jackmans were unique b/c the 'spokes' were welded right to the outer ring/rim, plus the steel is more of a structural, thick guage. (as opposed to a stamped ring with triangle cutouts for the spoke effect, then that welded into a outer ring/rim)

Anyway, we had a situation where one got trashed, so I went on a multi-year search to get the 1 replacement. I found a very trashed '77 that was for sale with a full set, asked the guy if he'd consider trading wheels, and he said no.

Eventually several more years later I saw that '77 again and it had been sold and was in worse condition. I approached the new owner and he was willing to trade.

Dang so basically it is going to be next to impossible to find a set like that. It was the full triangle that really looks good. I really like them more than the typical white spokes I see around.

Thanks!
Send me an e-mail w/ your contact info. Years of looking makes me pretty in-tune to noticing them, and if I see some I'd let you know. I think I've seen one set since my ordeal. One thing I've noticed is that there are some 8-lugs around.

It's May 13th and you guys still have snow? Even the mountains around here have melted...

LOL, Actually the pics were in Feb/Mar. Although we did get a little dump in mid April....

:doah: My bad...

Can you get some close ups of those rims?

It's not winter "wheeling" until you're on the business end of a snatch strap up to your headlights in snow :D

If you have a set of those post up the pics. I know they are heavy as my dad used to run them on his Ferd, but they looked good. His were 16.5 though, and he hated that part.
