 how do I pull the wiper arms off an 86? Im trying to do it without bending the cowl vent or destroying the wiper arm, I wish I had a small gear puller...

there is a little spring loaded clip that you can get with a small blade screwdriver. the clip is only about 1/8th in. wide, and will be towards the vented cowl. pry that away from the serated shaft, and then lift the wiper arm up with equal pulling 180* apart.

this tool works good too.

How does this work? The par that screws in is just pushing on the wiper arm and then the fork is pulling the bottom.

Does it just pull the arm flat and some how push the tab/spring out you can pull the arm off?

Haven't used one before, as I always get them off by prying the clip up, but it looks like the fork part goes on the underside of the wiper arm and will depress the spring clip as you screw the thumbscrew down, when the clip is fully depressed the arm should lift off the post.
