Wiper control free spinning and wipers stuck on high

I have a 1990 Chevrolet Blazer. My wiper control free spins and my wiper blades are stuck on high. I replaced the wiper control stalk, but the new one free spins as well. What part do I need to replace / what is the part called the wiper control inserts into?

Wiper switch. My search came up with ds1586, Standard Motor Products brand.

I just did mine. I don't know how to link, but on utube there's a 20minute rebuild on an 86 column. I'm not a mechanic.
