Well as you all know we get more rain than sunshine in western Washington

I got about half way to Seattle and my wipers started acting up. At first when I'd have the switch set to intermittent it would occasionally spurt out two or three wipes at the seem of the hi non intermitten position. Now when I turn the wipers on to intermittent they are fast and when I turn them off they stay on till I turn the switch to the mist position. When I release the mist position the wipers stop exactly where they were when I do it.

What am I looking at as the culprit?

Looks like I answered my own question.. it's the intermitten wiper control box.

I unplugged the box and noticed that the ends leading into it were matching male and female ends.. plugged them and woila, got "low" and "hi" and my wipers shut off. No intermittent though. Going to see if I get the box locally.. if not Rock Auto has it.

Pretty universal on GM stuff IIRC, any wrecking yard will likely have multiple.

Thinking about snagging a couple..

Looking at the part I think I know what killed it.. the sh!tty stretch of I-5 north between Tacoma and Seattle. I know I need new shocks.. but that road is BAD. It felt like I had a flat the truck shook and shuddered so hard.

The tabs on the module were all broke off and I found them on my floor mat.. I'd been having little issues since I got the truck, but I think vibrating against the cover plate on the dash exacerbated them.

I had never seen one still in place, couldn't figure out for the life of me how they were SUPPOSED to mount. :) Finally saw one installed as factory, then it made a bit more sense.
