Winter is going to be here soon, and was thinking I should get some new wipers. I have tried many different brands over the years, never really satisfied with any of them.

What is the best wiper money can buy these days?

Silblades!! http://www.silblade.com/ These are silicon, not rubber and guaranteed for 5 years. Your supposed to change your regular blades every 6 months. Ive used 'em and like them. Even come in a rainbow of colors. I believe Amazon has the best price.

x3 for the rain X, however for hardware, I've found nothing beats these. Low profile, no crooks or crannies for ice to build up and really, really work well. I run them on all my vehicles now. I assume some US store must sell a similar product.

Carquest sells that wiper, its called the "Innovision". Pricy, iirc it was $20 for both on my Buick dd, but they really are great. I use them with Rain-X, and its a great combination. I imagine Napa and the clone parts stores sell their own versions as well.

Ya know, I tried Rain X once. It jus didnt do it for me. Once you put Rain X on, it makes your wipers useless and the rain jus stayed on the windshield. I applied it per instructions, so dunno.

I put it on half my windshield this spring, and do not like either. It makes the mud bead up, really funky looking and does not want to come off.

Wow I'm really surprised you guys don't like Rain X. Granted I haven't used it on the Blazer, but I used it religiously on my '63 VW Microbus. The wipers have one speed, excruxiatingly slow, and no washer jets, the stuff was so amazing I didn't even have to use wipers the rain just beaded and blew off! :dunno:

At first it seemed great. I started noticing the water and mud would mix and bead up and never fully wipe off. Leaving big muddy water marks.

I've never had good luck with Rain-X. It has always seemed to trash my wipers. I, however, have fallen in love with the Bosch Icons. They are similar to the Innovisions.

but I used it religiously on my '63 VW Microbus

Wipers on any VW in those years seemed to be an afterthought, course they probably thought that thing didn't go fast enough to need any!:D

Man how true! Gotta love the 'advances' by the time my '70 Squareback came out the washer jets were powered by the air in the spare tire! :haha:
