I found the connector in the fire wall that goes back to the rear power window. there are 3 wires, does anyone have a wiring diagram on what goes to what? are they positive, negative, or reverse polarity???

I think thats them (blazer is outside) but what do each one go to? I assume one is power and one is for up and one is for down. is this right?

I believe the rear window system is grounded thru the body via the mounting bolts cause I've replaced every wire for mine rear window and there is NO ground wire.

Just a motor, switch, circuit breaker and relay.

on my 75, the circuit breaker is located in the engine bay on the firewall behind the brake booster, but in my sisters 80 its actually in the fusebox(sq. metal looking thing), my relay is actually mounted to the brake pedal support beam WAY up under the dash. I never looked at my sisters to see if/where her's is. Best thing to do would be to start in the rear at the tailgate and just trace your way up to the switch.

thats my prob, there is no switch, all I have is the wire plug that starts at the firewall and goes back to the window. I can't find a switch so I was gonna wire a temporary one till I found a real switch.

I'm in the same boat on my '73. There wasn't a switch or wires to the gate. If I use a jumper wire from the battery to the orange wire at the tailgate the key switch in the TG will raise/ lower the window.

hehe, i also dont have the key /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
When I bought the Blazer, it was in really bad shape and the guy didnt have the door key.

I figured it out...the orange wire has to have positive, and the other two wires are positive trigger, so when you send one of them a positive signal it goes up. You send the other wire a positive signal and the window goes down.

Thanks for all the help guys /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif you all rock!!!!
Now to just rig up a switch for the time being....

Lemme do some digging around tomorrow, I might have a switch. Worst cause is until you can get a factory switch, is get your self a momentary ON-OFF-ON toggle or rocker /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif but I'll look around tomorrow for ya.
