Wiring differences: diesel vs. 305/350

Hey,
another question:
I did not get a look at it yet, but would it be a big problem to take a stock 305/350 fuse block/interior wiring harness and hook it up to a 6.2 engine harness??

flo

I believe it should work fine Rene might be able to confirm.

Oh, maybe I misunderstood, but I think he was asking about the fuse block & the wiring coming off it for the interior of the truck. As long as you get a similar year, everything should plug right in. There is no difference in the pinout of a diesel harness or a gasoline harness as far as the bulkhead connector on the engine side of the firewall is concerned

I'd think the only difference would be for the W.I.F. and glow plus lights. I robbed it all from my donor when I swapped to the diesel...but it would make sense that the pin-outs would be pretty much identical.

I don't believe so... Possibly a different cable between the cruise control unit and the injection pump, but the general electronics should be the same.

The length of the cable may be longer on the diesel since it is located at the front of the motor instead of the rear.
