I pulled a 6.2 diesel out of a 82 Chevy truck. I unplugged the wires I could and cut the others. This is going into a truck that had a 454 in it. Was wondering if I can get rid of some of the wires. Or I need to know what wires are needed to run and function properly. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Kinda hard to say not knowing which wires you cut...

FWIW everything unplugs from the fuse block quite easily...so there was no reason to cut a single wire.

In my '79 I just used my original SBC wiring harness with the 6.2L. The alternator, starter, oil sender, and temp sender wiring were all in the same place. All I did from there was add a manual glowplug setup and extend the old HEI wire to reach the injector pump.
