ok so i got these hella 700 lights and they came with a wiring harness, relay and switch. the directions were pretty sketchy and i have never done wiring before. i followed them as best i could and to my disbelief when i went to flip them on they didnt. i got pictures of all the connections and grounds so if somebody could shed some light (no pun intended) thatd be awesome

Relay question.

Is there any way that you can take a picture of the schematic that is on the relay?? I'm assuming that the ground wire/power wire is on the wrong terminal. http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp would be a good site for figuring out which terminals go to which wire.

the bottom of the relay seperates and already had the wires attached. there is only one way which it could go on and thats hot it is. when i get home from work ill take a picture of the directions and the two peices seperated.

I'd bet your switch is wired wrong... do a continuity test on it...

The switch should be power in/power out /ground.You only have 2 wires on it,not 3.

you only need grd for the switch light.. continuity between the 2 correct posts will still allow the circuit to work... grd or not...

Get a test light if you don't have one.
Start at the switch, check for power in, and power out when on, then do the same with the relay. It will click if wired right too.

Good grounding is your friend also. I always pay twice as much attention to grounding as I do power. Lack of power is easy to track down, a bad ground is a royal PITA.
