Ok here is my problem the best i can describe it i have 1977 blazer 350 4x4.Now i had the front clip off disconnected all the wiring and when i hooked eveything back up this is what happend also i put a cluster in from a 1979 blazer so i dont know if this has anything to do with it or not....ok here goes I Turn my ignition switch to the on postion the right turn signal is solid green.I then turn the turn signal to the right postion it stays solid green but get dimmer then brighter now the left side is also blinking .Now i turn the turn signal to the left postion right side blinks completely then the left side blinks and so do all of the guages.I then went to my fuse box and checked power and the fuse are getting dimmer then brighter.I checked the ground from the instrument cluster and its good. Now my turn signals on the outside of my truck work fine the right side blinks like it should and the left side blinks like it shoud.I have no idea what could cause this im stumped i have spent hours and hours and wondered if someone could help 2 head are better then one:mad:

wiring problem

yeah when i check the fuses there lit when i turn the turn signal on the get dimmer then brighter

I'm going to say it has something to do with the cluster being wired differently between the two years. Unplug the connection on the back and see what happens then. Obviously none of the gauges will work but i bet your fuses don't light up anymore (they should never "light" up unless they're about to blow).

what i mean is when i turn the key to the on postion i check the fuses one by one with a test light the test light lights on each fuse. When i put the turn signal on the test light, the light get dimmer then brighter sorry about confusing you

ok i will check tommorow and let you know what happens.Ill let you know what happens thanks again

I had a dodge van that one day started doing something similar, the dash lights would flash with the blinker, left turn lit up the rights etc, turned out to be a bad turn switch in the steering column.
