Wiring Problem

OK, I have a 89 S10 with TBI and a 700R4. What I need to know is if i replace the TBI with a carb and remove the computer stuff for the motor. Is the computer and harness seperate for the trans. Or do I have to use one of those kits like Summit sells to make the lockup converter work. Thank's in advance. Jason

you will have to use a kit because the computer controals lock up. You will also run in to problems with a lot of things because so much is computer controled. Your speedo will not work you will need to put a different distributor in it which will most likey have to be after market becaue the 4.3 even fire has always had computer controled spark advance. Your best bet is to upgrade to a better fuel injection like CPI. I have done this swap in a 89 blazer and it has a lot of power for a 4.3
