Wiring under Dash

Can anyone tell me what this wire/light is for, the one end with the brass connector was connected into a little plastic holder that was in the ashtray cavity and I am not sure what it was supposed to hook to and or where the light was getting plugged into. It was laying towards the dash cluster.

It is allways fun figuring out other peoples problems....

I think it's a fiber optic light for the ashtray stuff

So where does the end with the bulb go?

Most likely it goes to the instrument cluster, they use that style of bulb with the twist in connector. I didn't realize how bright mine was supposed to be until I found three of the bulbs were burned out when I was replacing the bulb for the climate control. I bet you'll find one of the gauges is missing a light.

I concer as I remove the cluster and found the open spot, and the other end is somehow a fiber optic light of some sort. It work, very fait but it works....
