Who here has installed a shackle flip without removing the gas tank and how big of pain was it?

I have a nice Matco flexible magnetic that works pretty good and small hands. Just trying to save on time on the flip kit by not having to take stuff out if I can work around it.

Stiff knee, dead man etc should old axle up if have to under the 14 bolt on a lift I would think correct?

Depends on which one your installing. The TNA one uses bolt plates which can be installed by pulling the rear bumper and lightly taping them to a yard stick. Line up a forward hole loosely install a bolt, then move the stick to line up the second hole. Once both bolts are in for the plate, everything stays lined up and no inside the frame wrenches are required. The bottom bolts/plates hold the brackets on and in place while your doing the others. You could also make your own plates for use with an ORD flip.

I just got mine installed, but I went ahead and removed my tank... removing it wasn't too too bad except some of the hoses were a pain to disconnect.

I had to mess around a little bit with the frame in order to get my diy4x flip on and it would have been very difficult if I had left the tank on. So, personally, I'm glad I took mine out. Gives me a chance to clean up the tank and skid plate while I'm at it too. Plus, there's a LOT of sparks flying from the grinding, so it just gave me some peace of mind as well.

At the minimum, I'd say you'd need to atleast loosen/lower the tank as much as you can and see how much access that gives you.
