WIX and NAPA GOLD

Huh. Bummer.

Used to only use NAPA Gold but now O’Reilly’s is closer so I use WIX.

No. :frown
Source?
I was watching TikTok and saw a shop i follow on there had removed their NAPA Gold stock and switched to WIX.

They chopped open a NAPA Gold and it had a different media and a flat steel spring vs the WIX's coil spring. The WIX said MADE I. USA, the NAPA Gold said MADE IN CHINA.

I've not seen official info on it yet but there was a guy on an International forum saying his NAPA told him Baldwin was making them now.

Companies keep a lot of that info quiet but I'm still looking for official info on it.

NAPA isn't what it used to be.... popular price and NAPA warranty shops are the new them.

Wix was bought by Mann-Hummel in 2016. I have used hundreds of Wix filters 2016 to 2021, no complaints. Now after the cooties ruined the world, might be another story

Baldwin historically was a good filter
Yes. I believe a good amount of Baldwin filters are made in Kearney, Nebraska.
I often don't check every filter of theirs that I install, though. I have seen some for International maxx-force made in Europe, a few little inline fuel filters made in China.
