Since I swapped on the HP60, it looks like my tires stick out more than with the GM 60. Anybody know if some how the GM outers will make the WMS wider?? Or is it just my imagination??

Read that before, but doens't say anything about the WMS change. Must be the way it sits. Also when I had the GM60 in, the truck sat alot lower than it does now, with the HP60.

Strange, I never noticed any changes between my HP60 and GM60. But I never did the GM outers swap. I really really really should have!! Probbaly would have if I didn't have **** strip and weld itself in place on the HP60...

Happen to have the Ford parts still?

since the base numbers are easy to find, measure your current WMS to WMS. you may provide important info for future swappers.

When I had the Gm 60 in the truck, and decided to run the HP, I already had the 40s, which are obviously 8 lug, and with 15s, I knew they would'nt fit over the Ford stuff. That was the only reason I swapped them. The Ford stuff had all new brakes, kinda wish I would have kept. But the Ford stuff went with the GM axle.

I'll see if I can get a measurment this weekend, gonna be tearing it apart soon...

I got brackets to run 3/4ton Chevy calipers on my HP60. Still have the weak knuckle design, but it was just easier for me. My GM60 stuff went when I sold the GM60. Would have prefered to have kept that stuff, but too much little crap and $$ to do the conversion if you don't have a spare axle to swap.

Inless your running hydro and full high steer, you should be OK. Might be able to find that stuff, need to call a local yard, I could see if they have anything....
