a raptor 700 if you got the $$$ or a TH400 mated to a 205

if you got a built-to-the-hilt TH350 it would work, but it is just asking for trouble, espeically if you want to "smok some of [your] my freed" out on the pavement.

TH400+np205

how much money would the 700 cost and could i find her in the junck yard
and what is the diff between th400 and that outhe 700

You can find a 700r4 in the yard, but it will most likely junk, and you need to spens alot to get it built to hold up. I would deninatly say a th-400 and either a NP203 or a NP205

a raptor T700 can be had for the muble sum of $1500
and as previously posted, most junkyard 700's are exactly that...not worth the effort to find the 1 in 100 that is in good shape, only to have your BBC toast it in 3 months.

If you go the 700r4 route, go buy it from a chevy dealer, that way you get a 3yr/50,000 mile warranty. I have smoked one of the GM cert. ones and they replaced it for free, no questions asked /forums/images/icons/smile.gif The only t-case that will bolt right up are NP208 and the NP241. Ohters bolt up with adapters ($$$)

had a corvette back in 85 with a 400hp+ sbc with a 400 tranny and went through 3 rebuilds and sold it with the 400 still running strong. even did stuff like hold 3000 rpm and dump it in drive, just to watcth the wheels smoke, or downshift at 40 mph to 1st to bark the tires on the way down, and that thing lasted through it all. only draw back is no OD, but you could probably have an aftermarket OD install, just guessing on that though.
