i just bought a new 74 blazer with a 350 and a manual trans
and it wont idle the engine is stock it runs well but when you stop it just dies if you dont feather the gas i dont think its a vac leak but it may be the wrong carb and the electric choke is not hooked up any help please

First hook the choke up to a 12v ing. source
I just did mine to the fuse panel.
Is it stopping when warming up or at driving

We really need more info. Does if act different when the engine is hot or cold? Could be as simple as the idle being set to low.

What kind of carb? Had same situation with a carter

IT'S MOSTLY MAUI WAUI.... BUT IT'S GOT SOME LABRADOR IN IT

If you don't have a vac leak and it won't idle when warm--unless the carb is totally out of wack, then I would guess the idle is just set too low.

I'd say vacuum leak. try and idle carb. you'll probably have to go way high with it. If it stays running at that point, then idle it back down . IF it dies I'd check for a leak between the top of the carb and the main body. Bet some one had their hands in it and didn't replace the gasket.

I would also say to set the idle spead to about 650-750 if ya have a tach
If it holds idles still replace all the vac lines (not that hard and cheap)
After that start the motor and with it idling step on the brake and see if the rpms go up if so replace the carb base gasket
