Wont Start

you dont need a voltmeter...a test light will do fine. either you'll have power or you wont.
I take it you dont have any tools with you?

get a 5.00 test light tomorrow.

Test for power at your solenoid, as well as use a screw driver to try to jump it from by touching the starter terminal that connects to your battery and to your starter solenoid.

If it tries to bump over or fire, you could have an issue with the purple starter wire, the fusible link or some where on your column.

Thks man. I just had a local shop replace the starter and she's ready to go. I will go over all connections once I get home to Atlanta.

so it was the starter??

Apparently it was, however it didnt explain why the truck died while idling in Park. I made it back to GA, but the truck died on me twice in route. The connections at the distributor are broken and are being held in place by electrical tape. I discovered this when I removed the air cleaner after she died on the interstate.

Any idea on where I can pick up some new connectors?

Can't help with your last question, just thought I'd stop in and say it's good to hear you made it home.:waytogo:

go to a junk yard and just snip off the plug off another gm vehicle of a similar year/make.

then using a butt connector and heat shrink tubing wire it in.
