rancho 4" lift.

the good:

-bushings in decent shape
-u-bolts in good shape (but i may replace them anyway, to be safe)
-donor truck was a mall-crawler with little to no offroad
-drop steering arm included (of course)

the bad:

-rear blocks (until i get a shackle flip kit, probably blackwidow)
-one spring pack is missing the overload spring, so i'll lose some lift (good for flex, though)
-i'll probably replace the shocks.

he was asking $225 and i talked him down to $150. he got a deal on a 6", so he's upgrading his '74 for looks. mine will see action, so 4" will clear my near-future tires without killing my COG.

good safe starting point with the ability to upgrade further and it cost you little money--right on

i picked it up, last night. really does appear to be from a mall-crawler. it's got some road grime, but none of the typical offroad signs of the area (grit, abbrasions, etc.) and the leaves all sit in-line and snug in the packs. less rust than i expected, and, the steering arm is brand spanking new. never even installed. the guy said the arm is for a dana44, but i think the corporate 10-bolt uses the same one (somebody correct me if i'm wrong, there). it's a procomp gm400.

thanks for the opinions. more positive votes than negative, but it looks like more people than i expected think i got a raw deal. oh well, i guess i'll find out.

since i won't be getting new, larger tires immediately, i'll have time to clean the lift up and really scrutinize it before installing it.

muy bueno. gracias por la confirmación

don't ask me why i started typing in spanish. i don't know.

thanks, muddermilitia
