You guys have no idea how much joy it gives me to go to the shop, hit the starter and listen to this joyous music :D Now if only my camera didn't suck so bad so you could get a feel for just how awesome it sounds, lol

Now if only I could get some pedal outta that hydro clutch so I could drive the thing :(

Its a freshly rebuilt 355. XE262H comp cam, TBI swirlport heads, stock cast iron intake with a q-jet. Running approx 9.4:1 static compression, stock bottom end less the pistons. We'll see if I can run it on 87 octane, or she'll demand the 89 or 92...

Engine is built to make power from about 1200 - 4500 rpm. The swirlports make huge torque down low, but run outta steam kinda quick. Thats fine with me though, I rarely take my truck over 4000 rpm anyways and usually use it for towing.

Its in seriously dire need of carb tuning. Runs great off idle, but runs very lean in the idle range even with full choke. Makes it tough to keep it running till it gets hot. Timing probally needs some fiddling too, I've got it around 12 degrees BTDC right now, but it might want a bit more with the cam I put in. I wish I'd gone with one size smaller to make it match the rest of the engine's powerband a bit better, lol

Sounds good. I'm starting my motor build here soon, so I was just curious as to what you werte running. Sounds good.
