saw it on another site the guy just bought the k5 drove it home and when he got home the frame looked like that...he is trying to figure what to do to fix it..any suggestions??

What to do? Yeah. Make the guy he bought it from disappear.:eek1:
 
Have the seller test the Ice road in May for thickness with lead wheels.
 
I saw that. Dude only give $600 for the truck. Still a good find because he's about to start modding it for the trails. It's not going to be his DD or anything like that. I say some flat plate and a shiat pile of welding and he'll be good to go! :D:waytogo:
 
What's the old saying...."caveat emptor"...let the buyer beware.

I would clean and bevel the two broken surfaces and weld them back together as well as I could. Then I would weld a piece of 3/16" plate over the repair and call it good.

I wouldn't expect the alignment to ever be perfect again, but I suppose if you felt like doing a lot more work you may be able to get everything close again.
