So I've got my 400+hp engine on the way. yeah... Now I've gotta' find a good carb. guy in the Grand Junction, CO area. I hear there is a good group some where behind Hooters, but am looking for a little more from you guys. Any help?

what are you looking for with this post? carb help? shop recommendations?

it would help if we knew what carb your running, planning on running, etc..

Help any

A good friend said to go with a holley 3310 vacuum secondary 780 cfm, but the engine builder (from Pheonix, AZ) said, "I would normally use a 770 Holley Street Avenger but because of the elevation being 5500 ft. I would go with a 670 Holley Street Avenger if you are going to do most of your driving at that altitude.''

Does that help?

If you wheel it i would go Qjet or edlebrock but thats me. I run tbi now though.

yup, i'm a q-jet guy.... i'm limited in my knowledge of the newer holley stuff.. but i would say if it's gonna see anything at all offcamber, a street avenger would be a poor choice...

It's going to be a few-times-a-week-driver(Grand Junction to DeBeque...30+/-miles) /snow/rock K5. The engine is a 350ci, 440hp/450 fpt with a TH400 and a 203 transfer case... Just after advice. Last time I had to do anything like this was in 97, and technology has changed alot and I haven't been following it.

Thanks Fellas'

well, for any rig that sees any offroad time you'll get a chorus of Q-jet fans... it runs great off camber.. poor man's fuel injection...

most of the Holley guys seem to like the truck avenger.. personally, i can rebuild a Q-jet blindfolded, no joke, but I know little of the truck avenger...

i'm sure someone will chime in with some modern holley info for ya...

Never felt any other carb could hang with my Q-jet, not to mention it will feed a motor like that with no problem (even the small ones are 750 CFM but because of their unique design work well even on smaller engines unlike generic Holley/Edelbrock stuff).

Q-jet seems the way to go. I get pretty side ways...on pretty much anything I hapen to drive by.

But your sure they have a 750+/- ?

450 fpt for a 350 is impressive and in the lower/mid 383 range.Who are you getting it from?

From a shop out of Pheonix, AZ. Found them on Ebay. "enginebuilder1" is the name on ebay, and the man to talk to is Darl. They have the best I could find pound-for-pound for the price. ($2995)
