Worn distributor gear?

Ok guys, 7.4L vortec. From a 1997 c3500, currently in my k5. Anyways, it recently started running like crap under a load and dreaded p1345 code comes and goes. Idles and drives fine just putting around. I guess it's common for the distributor gear to wear out and mess up the timing. My question is, what do we consider a "worn out gear"? See my pics and give me your opinion!

the whole gm distributor was crap on those motors, GM performance catalog has the whole replacement, gm dealer will sell you the parts.
