For a 2001 8.1/4l80e combo w/280,000 miles? it runs and drives but is said to need motor work... I havent asked whats wrong yet
Dude thinks its an allison trans so must not be too good with the mechanical side of things

i'd get the whole truck, so the harness and ecm are there. It has an exellent body and nice interior.. i could sell the body and recoupe some cost maybe... 2001 2500 suburban. If I get my new job this month (fingers crossed) i want to jump on this for a swap into my burb.... but only if its woth it... i dont care if I have to rebuild the motor really. I'm not sure what a rebuild on the 4l80e costs though and i'm sure id be looking at 2k to do the motor.....

Thats what i'm thinkin.... with the new job if i get it i'll have about 1k extra amonth i didnt have before new toy upgrades seem like a worthy expendature .

I figure all accesories, brakets, etc. .... maybe even rad and fans.. sounded like a good deal but had to ask. I found a company with built crate 4l80e's for $1900 due to a sale if anybody is interested also (was looking at rebuild costs)

if its a truck it should have in allison transmission I thought it was avalanche and the suburbans that had the 4l85e behind the 8.1

Regardless of my last post Id say its worth it I was looking for a 8.1 they all seem to average out to around a grand for just the engine milage ranging from anywhere from 150k to 200k+.

No but i think I'm gonna try for that real soon. I'm kinda hoping to get a loan for it.. i have the cash technically... but its curently slated for use on my kids truck since it came from his truck getting wrecked. a LOT hinges on me getting the other job.... but i dont wanna miss this truck either

yeah the idea got me going... i have a direction now and im gonna go for it like i said though... the new job will be a determining factor. if i dont get it.... itll be a while
