ok, its time to paint my truck. im just gonna clean her up and primer her white. then when i scratch it all up i can just throw on another coat of primer. so heres the question: my buddy is a REALLY good artist and wants to practice doing flames on vehicals before he does his. so, would it look stupid if i had a primer white, beat up, body damaged, lifted truck with flames on the front? and if not, what if i let him go crazy and make a skull and crossed wrenches on the hood? let me know.

I say go for it and then post the pic's of it!

Hell it ain't my truck! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

The only way you'll know is if you let him do it, you can always primer back over it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Flames are ALWAYS COOL.
or at least I think so. both these trucks were painted by my daughter. the 76 when she was 13 and the 73 when she was 16. Flames rule!
oh, and people make fun of me anyways! just another city REDNECK!

"Satin" is all the rage with streetrodders these days! They put flames, pinstriping and all over non-shiney paint...go for it! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

My Buddy is a comercial artist and runs the art department for the Boys and Girls club of america. He wrote and codirected the commercial with Denzel Washington in it. I been trying to talk him into laying some flames on my truck for years /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Go for it. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
You can always sand it off and paint over it.
Check out what this guy did.

I say go for it. If I was closer to you I would let him practice on my truck /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. It's allready completely covered in flat black spray paint. I've been thinking about putting some flames on it, or getting some Chevy orange and doint a Camo scheme with it. I haven't made my mind up yet but when it's done it will defenitely be a one of a kind. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

do it man! its your truck in the 1st place, its gonna be on primer so if he f*cks up just put another coat on, and you can never go wrong with flames

so bablazer73, you have a 16 year old daugter thats can do paint, likes full size chevys, and was brought up in a family that wheels'? is she cute?????? /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif just kidding, 16 is a little too young.

good one zakk!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif. i got a parts truck that came with a new motor though. so pretty soon i wont be smokin. and next time you drive behind me you wont need a gas mask!!!

Primer bad /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Spend the few extra bucks and get something that cover the primer. Primer loves to soak up moisture like a sponge. I know you don't want to have to worry about getting scratches but I wouldn't want the rust that it will make. They do make good flat paints though. So its no biggie. Flames are cool though.
