Would the bellhousings be the same

I believe he has a 465 gear box.

It seems to me that they would swap.

All Chevy v-8's since 1955 have the 90 degree bellhousing , all inline sixes since 1962 have the 90 degree bellhousing , the diesels and 90 degree v-6 have it too .

Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't the bell from the blazer have the slave on the driver side? I know for a fact that the 88 up "K" series have the slave at about 5 o'clock on the passenger side, in order to clear the IFS diferential.

Oops, re-read the question, and yes, the SM465 is the same between the 87 blazer and the 88 K3500. The 88 K3500 has a different top cover which relocates the shifter rearward about 5". Can get pics tomorrow if needed.

if the 88-up has a 5 speed no it wont work as that tranny has a molded on bell.

but some early 88-89 trucks had 4 speed 465 trannys. these might just work but i have not tried this.

and as for the nv4500 no it wont bolt to a 465. bolt spread is bigger and center hole is bigger.

yes they will. for the most part all chevy small block parts are interchangeable. i know ur bell housing will work tho.
