Would this Diesel work well for a DD tow rig?

I have been looking for a Diesel truck to use as a daily driver and a tow rig. I was mostly looking at the 94-97 Ford f-350s and the 90's CTD Dodges but I found this on Craigslist and want to know if this is any good. I really dont know much about the older 7.3L.

Itll be a slug but itll last forever:D

Is a aftermarket turbo a bad idea? Is the older 7.3 not built enough to hanlde it?

i think they weren't factory turbo'd til 93. from what I remember they will hold up but depends on driving manners and how many miles on the motor before the turbo went on.

It's fine, it's just not as an effective power adder as it is on an engine designed to be turbocharged. The early 7.3 has a higher compression ratio, like most N/A motors, so you can't put the boost to them like a later Power Stroke 7.3.

regardless, that ATS turbo is a nice unit and with the stage one flow injectors I'm sure it pulls well.

I don't know how bad stuff rusts out west, I'm guessing it doesn't, but I know for a fact that the Ford dealerships make quite a bit of money from people and shops buying frame brackets from them. I should know, my F150 got complete new spring hangers and shackles because the stockers were rusted through

Just last week I noticed that the radius arm brackets are going, too. Yay.
