I am kicking around the idea of getting rid of the member gallery and replacing it with free web sites for everyone (not the same ones as before) and then allowing the members only to be able to upload pics in the forum, what do you think?

I especially like it, my service provider has decided to rotate my ip so my domain is out of order untill I anty up for a dedicated ip. That means I'm pic'less on the project right now!

Absolutely. I'd love it if it were a bit more advanced than we had/what I have now on Rockcrawler..........only so many pages you can use and I'm growing a pretty good webpage and could use more space, if that will be possible. If not, I'll piggyback on my cousins server and get serious.

Allowing members to use pics in posts is a great upside - one that is a 'lure', at least it would be to me.

Key again, as Two Crows said quite eloquently, is to get the suppliers that we all use and by showing them the benefits of being an advertiser HERE they grow. ORD has undoubtedly grown by leaps and bounds for one main advertising reason - COLORADOK5.COM. No question Stephen is a great guy with great products but let's be real - this website brings him more customers than I can imagine. I have about $1000 worth of his stuff on my Blazer and more to come with crossover from him because of the word of mouth from here and my own good experiences. ORD is but one example - if we pooled our resources and made it worth it to a 4Wheel Parts or Central 4WD they would/should pay.

Let us know what we can do to support your efforts further. I have a Central 4WD and 4WP nearby we can lobby.

Will this help you out with bandwidth or is this just another idea off the top of your cranial? If it helps the site and is not too much off you arse, then go for it. I personally think that everyone should provided their own webspace for there own pics. Not your responsability. Now drawing my name for MArch and sending me my free Dana 60 is your resposability!!!

QUESTION?????? Will that make a thread take longer to load? Cuz if we get people on here posting lots of large files and such that would definetly kill the site for someone on a slow connection. They may just stop coming around and that's no good. There is a thread on another site with quite a few pictures in it and my computer at home can't bring it up. This would be my only concern. If doesn't take away from the speed then yea, do it. What about members only get an avitar (lil pic) by their name?

That sounds like a great idea!!! It is nicer to be able to post a pic in the forums rather than just a link... I give it two thumbs up!! COOL BEANS!

BTW, I get notices about my old CK5 site now and again even thought they are gone...

That would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have free web hosting. Please dont just have the generic one type fits all page format.
It would to good have a basic page editor for those who dont know HTML.
But it would also be nice to have the choice of a more advanced blank page that we could up load our own FTP files and custom build our own web sites and page layouts. That way all the sites dont end up looking the same.
But however you do it it is a great Idea!
