been thinking about it a lot. fuel efficent, reliable, and can be built into a go-fast project when my truck is done. and it can carry more than 2 people in comfort. i dunno, just throwing ideas around for a dialy driver.

i got me the Parts Honda of DOOOOOM! for a daily driver.

hopped up '99 EX that can cruise comfortable at about 105 for those long highway runs.

Newer one or an '80s model w/ the removable top? I like the older ones, kind of like a Toy K5. They may be good on gas but even the 22RE is a dog when trying to move something that heavy. If I decide to give up on the light-weight K5 (I have no plan to right now, hell its almost done, it just needs a lighter front bumper & a 241 to replace the 203) it will be replaced by a 4-Runner.

I had a 87 runner. It was a rock solid truck and could outclimb a mountain goat.

We have a 97 3.4 V6 4Runner, 2wd. Got 26 MPG loaded with junk and two people in it. Great vehicles, never given us a problem.

We will still talk to you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
As long as its an '85, with the diesel motor, and mud tires, and black with blue and purple flames, and gray interior, and a snorkel. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
hehe, I like the Toys really I do, they drive pretty good and wheel really good. When you buy one though you'll probibly need to do the timing chain. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I wanted one sooooooooo bad in high school, but nooooo I had to get the K5! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

ok i know nothing about toyotas and what year had what, but this would be ideal: removeable top, fuel injected, 4wd, 5 speed. i know the 22-RE's were really well built motors so i guess i could live with a four banger. anyways, thats what i have floating around in my head right now.

removable top went from 84-89, FI started in 85. IFS started in 86. Check out LC engineering, they can make those 22R's SCREAM. You could also get a turbo, those bastards haul...

I hope they yall will still talk to me too because im going to pick mine up today or tomorrow /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

ok theres an 86 4x4 auto tranny in the photo ad today. is it worth checking out for $2700. if i go check it out what should i look for? besides rust, obvious signs of abuse, and that stuff. most people wouldnt know to look for floor board rust in our trucks, is there any secret wear spots that only toyota guys know about? thanks everybody.
