I have a 68 burb that is getting a fresh 400 and a hydro 465 I have the option of either swapping my twin sticked 205 into it or my clocked 208. which would you guys rather have under a tow rig?? turning 4.10's on 37's

the trail ride is a toyota and it will be getting a 2nd case but not anytime soon.

The 208 is not exactly weak for a tow rig. The 205 is stronger, but heavier. Low range is lower in the 208 than the 205. Tough choice.

205, no question.

me too a 32 spline 205 is bullet proof. id take it over a 208 anyday. hell i did, theres a 465/ 205 in my rig:D

if the 208 had a fixed yoke, I'd vote for it... but since I hate them so much, I gotta go with the 205. There is nothing wrong with a 208 other than the slip yoke. It can handle a good amount of torque and on a tow rig you ain't worried about a giant rock hitting the case, so the fact that its aluminum is a good thing. I would think a chain t-case would eat a little bit less HP too.

the 208 is going in. I'm clocking it up so I can't hit any rocks with it... I know you are all thinking I thought you said dialy driver...... it never ends up that way for me,LOL

I'll keep the 205 for whatever I build next.
