Working on tearing down my 60 to get ready to rebuild. Do these kingpins look like they need replacement? They feel smooth to the touch and I didn't see any uneven wear on the bushings. The vertical mark on the second picture is from a screwdriver when removing the seal.

For the $40 a new set will cost you, I think I'd go for it while it is apart. I rebuilt my D60 last fall and after needing to replace almost every other part on the dang thing, I just decided to go for it for the peace of mind.

for what condition i see and the hassle to change them some times . i would run them . and i have run worse .

unless you have the tools and time then change them .

those looks real clean for used king pins.

the 1 has just a little tiny pitting starting near the bottom . . .

maybe time for the bronze bushing upgrade and crane offroad urethane spring eliminator kit .

I wouldn't be able to sleep if I went that far and didn't replace them.

I'll add this:

If you are planning to blast or strip the axle go ahead and replace them. If you're just going to wire wheel it or do nothing to the axle, leave them. They don't look bad by any stretch of the imagination.

I brought the axle outside, cleaned it up, and looked at it more. Unless I get a wild hair I'm going to leave them. Thanks everyone!

Male sure they are tight. All the axles I have bought that didn't still have stock kingpins could be broke loose with a breaker bar.
