After I threw my driveshaft, this is what my yoke looks like. I don't think it's bent, just alittle tore up on the end. Should I reuse it or just replace it?

Well I can't seem to get that cap out. It's like fused to the yoke. I've been beating the hell out of it and it still won't come out. Any ideas?

I am assuming you are trying to beat it in?

if so.. try grinding down the cap from the inside...
then place a socket on the inside (forget what size but use one as it fits perfect)
and beat on the yoke... then it should push outwards.... also plenty of lube.....

Alright, I was just about to bust out the grinder and start grinding on it, I'm just afraid to mess the yoke up worse.

Also, while I've got you guys' attention, where can I find a replacement tailshaft housing for a NP208? Just pulled mine and it's cracked badly. Is the junkyard the only place I'll find something like that?

Aw, well in the process of lubing, heating, and beating on the cap to get it out, right where the yoke is all chewed up cracked all the way through.

Can yokes be bought at auto parts stores? Do all NP208s have the same yoke?

I have a full spare 208 in my garage including the tailshaft housing. I'd suggest going through the whole xfer case to gauge damage. Send me a PM if you need the housing or any other parts.

go to a driveshaft shop and get a new one along with any other yokes you may have messed up. they also have the joints you need and will most likely give you advice.
