Well now I'm getting about 65mpg with this one simple upgrade. So the way I figured it I'm coming out a couple hundred cheaper a month with the way gas prices are. And I get to keep my K5s.

Its a small one. 500. It was in my price range (under 4000) and insurance was only $100 a year. I've never had an erge to own a motorcycle but with gas prices on the rise, it seemed like the smartest move as a DD.

Good idea, it's been floating around my mind too. 2.50 gal for the cheap stuff and 2.80 for premium here.

A bike sounds pretty attractive at 65mpg.

Yeah, I rode dirtbikes as a kid but then got into fullsize 4wheeling. Its been awhile but its all coming back. I think its prob one of the smartest investments I've made in awhile. I think the price on bikes are prob gonna go up soon because I think its a good solution to gas prices.

Sweet we are considering buying a bike for my wife even though you can only ride around here about 4 months (well at least thats how long she could ride) it still makes sense

I just got rid of my 02 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 to purchase my new 05 mustang gt. It got to the point where I could not ride it everyday because of it rains all the time. I also got rid of the toyota 4x4 pickup dd because of 300,000 miles and 10 mpg. BTW the GT gets 20 mpg if I leave the heavy foot on the gas pedal :D . Be very careful when you ride that bike.

I'm so jealous. I've been wanting one for awhile and if prices keeping going up, going to have to do something.

Yeah it rains some here also, but I figured I can ride it about 8 months out of the year and my neighbor works the same shift and place that I do. I couldn't afford a car payment (cuts into junk buying funds). Also if I bought something new it would have been a big tow rig.

very cool:bow:

Well I rode it on the hwy today to work. Very nice ride. Stopped and got a permit this morning. Only thing is other people are freakin me out. Man they'll ride on your arse and your wondering the whole time if they see your signal or even remember your there. I guess I'll get more comfortable as I ride more but I've very cautious of others even when I'm in my K5. Its a little nerve racking right now on a bike. :o

might be gettin' me 2 motorcycles soon. But got the datsun on the road now for my dd which is doing alot better in the mpg than the k10 was. But i miss driving the 10 :( everything is bigger than me now
