So I knew i needed to redo the exhaust on the m1009. no big deal I kinda like doing exhaust. I also needed to track down a metal on metal grinding sound that would occur when i went over a dip or bump. Now I admit I have done some things that have been stupid before but I think this takes the cake in beyond redneck repairs. While doing the oil change I came across what was causing the metal on metal grinding sound...
..I was a bit shocked at seeing this as any stupid thing i have done has never compromised my driveline like this has. Wow. On a sidenote since I have to swap out exhaust and have read that straight through mufflers work good on diesel's, would the bullet style magnaflows like this work without any issue? It's 2.5 in/out.

...I only had torches back then,no welder,so I put a nice "bead" of brazing rod all the way around the shaft--it lasted 2 more years, but it grumbled and rumbled at highway speed from that day on!--I think it either bent some or I threw the balance off by brazing it..
