I have a chance to get this for a pretty good deal, I'm thinking about doing a SAS with leaves if I get it

The frame is bent at the back of the upper a-arm mount, but doesn't seem like its too bad

Has 140k, tranny just rebuilt, 2700 in parts. Loaded, black leather in great shape, exhaust, intake, air dog, efi live

What do you guys think it's worth

Maybe I'll try to bend it back but I think with the leaves it should be fine

All the tranny engine and tcase appear to be fine.

Price wise hard to say. I see wrecked ones go through the auction 5-8k.

Heck cut all the independent stuff off, pull its straight if needed, the build a large plate for it. Maybe?

Yeah, thats kind of what I was thinking, pull it straight as best as possible and plate it with 1/8 or 3/16

I can get this for %18 of what he gets, should be 23-27k

If you are thinking about major mods and wheeling it, it might be worth considering. But if you are going to try to make a DD out of it, I'd pass. Its going to be a huge pain to get it all aligned.

Not just the front, but the whole front to rear alignment is probably off. Doors are not going to want to work, Little stuff will keep popping up from time to time.

Having said that, I'm not sure about the money you mentioned. The way you worded it, it could be two different prices.

Do you mean your price would be 18% of 23-27K, or your cost would be the 23-27K?

OK, thinking this through, if that amount is 18% of what he gets, I want to know the name of his insurance company........

That would mean he gets 150K.....Don't sound reasonable.....

Yeah, for 3 or 4k, it might be worth it. But it will be a salvage title, make sure you can live with that.

I went over and looked at it, the doors open fine, besides the passenger front, but that is just because the fender hits it.

I don't think the alignment will be that bad for a DD, I looked at it from the front and as far as I can tell the front frame at the hooks isn't tweaked at all. I didn't hit the frame on the front, missed and basically just used the a-arm as a lever. Thats why I'm thinking the frame is pretty square

I'm going back over to look at it, I'll try to get some measurements to see if everything is square

Airbags went off, but I already have the airbag for the drivers side NOS

I can live with the salvage title, are you familiar with the process in Fl?

Looks like the rear shackle hanger is a good bit behind where it's bent

3 to 4k is what I'd pay. Has some miles On the engine but if everything looks ok go for it. Body shops have a frame straitener if you want to pay a few hundred more. Then you can get junkyard panels and Parts to fix the rest. If its gonna be a play truck for trails leave it as is and beat the piss puts it. ;)

little time on a an EZ-liner and it'd be fine more than likely... I pulled rails WAY more waffled than that..

I take it this was a total?

Then take care of the frame and replace the smashed stuff. Could be a nice truck again. It would be a salvage title though so you wouldn't be able to sell it for book price when you are done with it. That's the only real problem later on.

Just to let you know, I wrecked mine 3 years ago. No frame or suspension damage and it was 9k to fix it.

All GM parts replacement and some paint work, those parts add up quick. Aftermarket or used is cheaper. Just look at the total cost to fix everything before you make a decision on it. You may be better off money wise finding one that is not wrecked.

Didn't notice you were in Fl.

Its been a while since I did any salvage/rebuilt title stuff. If possible, I strongly suggest that you contact the DMV, now called FHSMV, I think, BEFORE the insurance company issues a final determination as to its status.

At one time, if the insurance company declared it totaled and unrebuildable, it was next to impossible to get a title for it except for a destruction title.

However, the insurance company could declare it rebuildable, and agree to share the cost with the owner of fixing it.

Of course, there is no requirement as to how much of the cost the insurance company would bear, so they could just pay what they intended to pay anyway, and call it done.

Of course there is an 80% rule, where it must be totaled if it will cost more than 80% of the replacement cost to rebuild it.

And, even if a rebuild determination is declared, there is another point where it cannot cost more than 100% of the cost to fix it.

The good news, is that as far as I know, the state does not check up on costs, so since you are doing the work yourself, they never need know what it took.

But, check with the state as soon as possible Monday. Like I say, its been a while, but you really need to know the facts before the final classification by the insurance company.

Yes totaled

I can get all the parts wholesale from GM and aftermarket parts for good prices through the local dealership. We are good friends with the parts manager at the local dealership so that will help. I want to get a lot of stuuf original gm from salvage yards also

I'll contact the DMV Monday

Looked at it again today, I think it's bent less than an 1"
