Guys, I hope you can forgive this novice question. I have a 1984 C-10 with a 305 (code H) that I am tuning up. I pulled the spark plugs , and from the info I have seen on AC DELCO's web site says they are the wrong plugs.(R44T) On the web site it says that for the code H 305 either the R45TS or the CR43TS should be used in a 1984 C-10. So, I was wondering which plug should I use? R45TS or CR43TS? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

Go to Napa and ask for the OE replacement. I know that isn't what you want to hear. But crickets are freakin annoying.

Them NAPA guys probably sold the previous owner the wrong plugs in the first place!LOL Just wonder what heat range is best , I'll find out thanks Justin.

Use the r45ts. R stands for resistor, ts stands for tapered seat, extended tip.

The c in cr43ts stands for commercial. As in comercial application.

43 and 45 are heat range designations.

Those 2 plugs are real close in heat range,I doubt you'd even notice any difference between a CR43TS and a R45TS --the higher numbered plugs are hotter and would be best for combined city & highway driving.....
Justin is correct about the "c" designation, they just have thicker electrodes..

I have run Chevy small blocks on a lot of various heat range plugs and "extended gap" ones and never noticed much difference unless the engine smoked and would foul colder plugs..

I had a ton of Champion & "Mighty" brand plugs to use up,and I used everything from RV8C champions to RBL15YC8 (with .080 gap) and those wide gap ones would misfire and start harder in the cold weather, but otherwise they all ran decent and looked normal as far as the "burn" color on them..

I run split fire plugs cuzz they are awsome........

jk

I normally use the shorty champion truck plug for better clearance. Although I think I'm running AC's right now. If cjanged every few years I don't think it matters what brand they are.
