Looking for clean rear brake drum backing plates for 84-87 1 ton GM, some 88-91 R/V may be the same. Has the snap in style ebrake cable, front entry. Can be from 14 bolt FF SRW, DRW or Dana 70. Thanks!

I've got a pair off of a m1008, if they would work for you but I'm sure shipping would suck. I'm down in south jersey 08002

I've got a set I pulled yesterday. I cut the e brake cables though.
could probably fit in a couple flat rate boxes for $15 each box.

I apologize I hadnt been checking the parts wanted section... Do you get down this way a lot? I'm sure they'll be a lot to ship, let me pull them off and I'll see how much they weigh. My email is [email protected] if you'd like to get a quicker response.

Did you want just the blank backing plates or with everything on them. There really isn't much to the backing plates, so if u just want them 10 bucks plus shipping would suffice.

It is rare that I travel to NJ. I'll email you directly after this reply.

The backing plates specifically are what I am after. If the hardware and shoes look exceptional, they would be of interest. I am definitely interested. Shoot me pricing however you are willing to handle it. I do have a paypal account if that works for you.

Thanks,
Gregg

Shipping two of those backing plates won't cost an arm and leg. If you remove all the shoes and hardware to ship just bare plates, the fee will be low. And they will fit in a box thats not too large or heavy either.

I have a 14 bolt FF that will get disc's soon. Don't know what year it is. You can have all the brake parts off of it for a (12 pack of good beer). I'm near Newburyport so your not too far from me. If you need pics let me know. Axle is complete and out of truck.

Make sure they're off a true 1 ton rear because the backing plates are deeper than a 3/4 ton due to the 3.5" wide shoes compared to the 3" shoes on 3/4 tons.

So.................... Brake drums are 11 inch ID, shoes are 3 inch. Drums look OK , backing plates are surface rusty, shoes are cores only. Shoe retaining hardware and springs are junk. E-brake cable is held in place by 2 small bolts. Cable has been cut. Is this what your looking for ?

3" wide shoes are 3/4 ton and those plates will not work for GonicGM since he's requesting the wider 3.5" shoe plates.

Unfortunately, no. Thanks for the consideration though.

74-86 C/K and 87-88 R/V brakes are as follows for 14 bolt, whether FF or SF:

light GVW 3/4 ton, example 6600 GVW has 11x2.75" brakes, same as 6 lug half ton.

Heavy GVW 3/4 ton, example 8600 GVW with JB7 brakes are 13x2-1/2"

All 74-86 C/K30 and 87-91 R/V30/3500 brakes are JB8 and 13x3.5" with hydroboost

All 73 C30 SRW or DRW have 13x2-1/2" brakes and Delco Morraine vacuum power brakes, same as 3/4 ton. No bendix front brakes either. 73 was a weird carryover year using a lot of 72 parts.
