i honestly cant see how they attach so im assuming that there are brackets. there is also an outline of the brackets on the tube so idk. do you have any pictures>?

Yep, I just removed a set of the brackets and just used the square tubes on my rear bumper. I'll have to dig them up but what are they worth to you? Make me an offer.

They were off a K5 which I guess is a m1009. I had them on my 90 K5 along with the bumper. The bumper is trash though from comming down on to many rocks. Here are some pics of then and now.

do the square tubes just mount right to the frame or is there some kind of bracket? when you had the old bumper im talking about.

There are a couple of brackets to help stiffen them. Mine are now welded and bolted to the new bumper mounts.
