Windstar fans all the way. Since you have a BB you want more go, if you want more go, use electric fans. 
Got some laying around? Lol
I had an extra set but my father used them on his project.

Couldn't you unbolt the fan from the clutch and flip it around?
no still the same .
and try rock auto or others for new replacement for the windstar fan unit these days . the last time I check the price new at the old place I worked I was shocked . no more junk yard units for me at the price I seen .
rock auto 2001 ford windstar 3.8 engine . cooling system . fan assembley . 76.00 bucks cheapest .
but might still need plug pig tails from junk yard
and try rock auto or others for new replacement for the windstar fan unit these days . the last time I check the price new at the old place I worked I was shocked . no more junk yard units for me at the price I seen .

x2, I just got a Taurus fan (its a little different but I needed it for a Scout 800) for $62 shipped.
