ok, so i'm anal about all my lights working on JR.it's not very street legal so why have an idiotic excuse to be pulled over.anyhoo, when i was bouncin off trees at my dads place last weekend,i was told my drivers side brake light was out.so i get new bulbs and the one i took out didn't look bad. but what the hell the cover is already off so i changed it.still nothing. so i put the lights on and all of them work.so next is the 4 ways.the fronts and the pass side work.but no driver side.that was last friday. today i checked again. all the lights come on but still no brake light on the DS.so i try the 4 ways again and it's the same but i have no turnsignals??the 4 ways flash fast like there is a bulb out.so i pull the lights on again to see if that changes anything and thats a NO.then i pull the lever back on the light switch and it changes the headlights. but then it would not pull back to change it.i messed with it and it changed the brights to low beams BUT it never clicked.do you guys think it's the turn signal/wiperswitch?it's an 86 cab. PS the little chrome tab on top of the lever to actuate the wipers and washers never worked, but today it did. this may seem like an obvious answer to you guys.but i have chased more electrical ghosts in JR than i care to remember.:haha: hell it's prolly a ground problem in the stereo thats not even in the truck!!!help o brother out

well hell then. drive up. i'll leave the light on AND bake a cake.;)

That would be "bored" :D

With the mud on your dash I'm going to say it's the wiring:rolleyes: Clean all your connections. Then I'd suggest replacing your steering column harness. Will probably be faster and easier than tracing out the true problem

i was thinkin replace the whole column.;) i don't get the brake light being out with a new bulb though?i never had this prob with mud before. but i never built a truck from the ground up before.i'm sure i left something to chance.all the other trucks i wheeled with were stock seppin for a lift, tires, etc.

i'd say it is probably a ground somewhere's. usually behind the taillight casing. i had alot of problems with my old Blazer and ended up just replacing the whole wiring. pretty much rewiring it all.

BTW is your rig running hot or does your gauge just not work?

well the guages are another prob. they worked fine then one day.POOP.i need to spray the mud off and see if the wires are still connected.like i said the frame is a 79 and the cab is an 86.hell my battery is grounded to the hood hing.it USED to work on the alternater bracket!
