WTF...Np205 gone wrong Question

A buddy of mine came by today, and asked me if I had ever seen a 205 with the same problem he's having.
It works fine in 2-high and 4-high. But when he puts it in 4-low , He only has front wheel drive. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Has anyone ever had this problem ? And whats causing it?

The shift linkage is screwed up somehow.

Mine does that once in a while. The shift linkage is worn out, not moving the internal pieces into engagement far enough.

give the topmost shift rail a smack into the case after moving the shifter into 4lo
then figure out what is stopping the rail from getting pushed fully back
