man these things bring the suck!! look at how they clamp the sending unit!! what a joke!! and I cant line the sending unit up the right way because of the U shape dent on the bottom!! I hate JC whitney!! I ordered a floor replacement panel from them and they sent me one for a pick up "my paperwork said Blazer"

now they send me this ****ing abortion of a fuel tank!! Dammittt!! I HATE JC WHITNEY!!!!

sure they lure you in with the "free shipping" or "15% off" E-coupons!! screw them in their oprah sized azz!!!

That is an odd way to secure the sending unit. On all the poly tanks I've seen, there is a metal ring molded into the plastic.

On the floor pans, I believe the ones JC Whitney sells fit both trucks and Blazers. Even LMC is that way IIRC.

The only stuff I order from JC Whitney is name brand stuff. Bushwacker, Kc, etc. I ordered a Sunpro tac from them a few years back (I needed an "old school" tac for an older car), they sent the wrong one. Didn't really haing any trouble excanging it.

Looks to me like the tank maker tried to integrate a sump so it was "universal" for injection or carb, but AFAIK all the sending units sit in exactly the same place where you are having a problem. :(

Can you tell who made the tank?

doesn't say much just MTS company L.D. and a sticker that says made in america:doah:

That actually doesn't look like to bad of a fit for an aftermarket, non GM pannel. You should have seen how far off the floor pans for my 82 Z28 were. Lots of time with the hammer/torch/grinder/welder on that one.

that "locking ring", definitely looks like bullsh!t. what is the procedure for sealing the screws?

That is the same tank I just installed. The sending unit installation sucked. I think it has about a 1-2 lb. torque rating for the screws. Mine didn't seal right the first time. It might have had to do with the clocking (or lack of) of the sending unit. After pulling the truck bed off again and sealing it with some wonder glue of some sort, it has been working fine. Not the easiest tank to deal with but at least it won't rust. Good luck on your install. I can try to find out what the wonder glue was if you want. The guy at the auto parts store swore by it.

Is this a politically correct racist comment?

When a president has "sexual relations" with his intern, the next one leads them into recession by filling his own pockets, and the new president's name is very similar to the same guy who bombed the twin towers... who gives a chit.

who gives a chit.

yeah, i mean, who really cares about right and wrong?... dumfuk. this statement is not a question of political correctness. being politically correct is choosing the gender neutral pronoun in a sentence. deciding that something is made by a particular group of people because it's a piece of crap is racism.

chickenrammit- you need to change that post, now.

Take it easy.

My point is that our leadership is setting a poor example... and I was hoping for better.

I was looking for a good pair of winter boots today. I asked for a pair made in the USA. Does that make me a racist because I was really just trying to support my country and its economy.

oyy don't get your panties in a bunch!! although I kind of expect it from a fellow blue stater..

ChickenRammit just change it to "cracker american engineering" I'm sure no one will care about it then!!:wink1:

hey, easy does it. lets try not to hijack this thread. the main topic, is that the fuel tank is seriously lacking in the R & D department. if my words were offensive, please pm me to express your intolerance.
