Kinda hard to explain on the computer but Imagine a T. I was crossing the vertical part going >>>> and wasn't where I could see the traffic turning onto the street i was crossing... there is always way too much traffic if you stand where you could see because there is a stop sign on one side and none on the other plus everybody was on the way to school so it was morning rush hour...
By the time he hit me he was doin 5-10 mph but he was probably doin 25-30 around the corner, saw me, locked em up, hit me, i got up, he took off.

hey man, i live in redding too and i've nearly been hit by a few people while i was walking too. Thats a real bummer about your sitch though. You know, there's an older volvo out front of the shell station on oasis road thats a faded light blue. It's been there with a for sale sign in front of it for about 2 months now. PM me when your trucks ready to roll, me and my buddy's are always looking for more people to wheel with.
