So I am reading the Penny Power (A little weekly paper of for sale/wanted ads. for those of you that dont know) or news paper yesterday, Dont remember which one it was, but I saw this ad: '78 chevy half ton with '92 front end'. I thougt WTF?? I pick up old Gm's because they DONT have IFS!! Why would anyone do this? I just dont get it!!! I will probably call the guy this evening and see if this was a mis-print. Just thought I would ask anyone else on here if they would EVER do that to their truck and if they know why in the hell anyone else would!

I want to put a '87 or later front clip on my '73. I have seen it done. Requires a radiator support, fenders and hood.

Someday....

sure some people can make anything work, i gotta a uncle in-law that put a SBC 327 in the back of a porsche 914

Those things haul a** when built right...
My friend and I were looking at a 914 with a 383 in it. He wanted $11K the body mods were done wrong. Still fun looking "little" project.
I have a 911 myself. Only suspension mods on it so far.../forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I'm assuming it is just the front clip. Maybe he did put IFS in it. Some people do things just to see IF they can do, regardless if it makes any sense. Could have been for a parapalegic or somebody with back problems that wanted a daily driver with a softer ride (no off-roading), or could be a misprint. Lot's-o-different people in the world, and many have different needs than you or I. Hell if I had spare parts sitting around and no solid axle, I might try to do IFS just for the heck of it (not a serious trail rig or anything) just to say I CAN do it. Who knows.
