WTH?! 4 Wheel & Offroad subscription

I'm sitting here nosing through my bank statement, and there is $18.00 charge from 4WHL&OFF RD /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I don't remember even paying with my debit card before let alone authorizing them to automatically charge me annually /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif I mean I must have at somepoint, they didn't just get that info on their own...


It really doesn't bother me, but I never paid $18 a year before, always got some renewel thing for like $12 or something...weird /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Anyone else have them do this?

I thought it was just a freebie promoting their store.

Your thinking of Offroad Adventures from 4 wheel parts /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Easy to confuse the "4 Wheel" part. I am talking about the Petersens mag /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
 
mine just stopped arriving /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I never got a notice saying my subscription was running out /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
 
I was wondering why I kept getting it but don't remember paying them any money for quite some time /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
 
I just send a check , after I get my renewal notice . I use my bank card for local purchases , and if I want something like that I send check , for large purchases online or something , I use my Visa which has protection on it /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
 
Have you ever used your card for them? They keep that crap on file and try to renew you without telling you sometimes. They will keep calling if you don't renew too. It is almost any primemedia publication that does that.
 
I paid for two years, within six months I started getting renuewal notices, then everyother month after that I got a reneual notice. Well this past month I got the mag in a plastic bag with an important this is your last issue...

I let all my mags completely expire now, wait till I dont get them a couple months then I go grab the 2 years for $18 slips out of the mags in the book store and send them in /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Call them up and tell them to give your money back.

Use a check next time.


Keep an eye out for a place called United Publishing Service. They sell a lot of Primedia magazines and do all sorts of shady things. If a "magazine" ever calls you ask if they're with United Publishing Service. They'll probably hang up on you.

I'd only do business with Primedia. Just send in the subscription card.
 
Its not a big deal, i just was suprised. I think I might have renewed online, or maybe gave my card info on a renewel deal in the past, I just can't remember now /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif I am sure there is some fine print that says they will automatically renew unless you cancel or something like that.

I agree 4WOR is the best mag out there, and its the only one that hasn't run out on me, guess I know why now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I applied to be one of the event photographers, I sent some stuff in from the UROC event last month, never heard anything back though /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
