iv read that u need a 2wheel drive steering box for x over to work. iv got one from a 80s c10 2wheel drive will it work with my 73 k10?

im not sure but if u look up the part numbers for a 73 and 80s 4wd box and then look up a 73 and 80s 2wd box ull find out

im pretty sure it will work, i dont know tho for sure if the lines are the same thread, i think ones standard and the others metric.

the difference is the type of line ends that thread into the box. one will be non-oring, and the other has o-rings.

just keep the lines with the box, then attach them to your pump.

OR you could just switch sector shafts ( the shaft that turns the pitman arm)

You can add the threaded fitting adapter from an o-ring pump to the back of your pump , the back of the pump will accept either fitting .

Or you can just swap the pump altogether and use your pump mounting brackets .

pull the pitman arm off the 4wd box on the truck. remove the 4 bolts in the cap on top of the box. center the steering wheel half assed. pull out the 4wd shaft then slide the 2wd one in. install your new pitman arm of choice. all there is to it.
