I ended up finding a used unit on Ebay. I torched the plastic stoppers out and separated the shafts. After cleaning them up, They installed perfectly.

Where would the bushing/shim go?
Im used to them becoming very sloppy at the slip, side to side but more so "rotationally". If this one didn't do that great. I've had most older units get sloppy and so I've had to add set screws to take up the sloppy.
I just want to make sure you're happy with the outcome and if it feels worse, figure out why.
